JSW Group and ace fashion designer Manish Arora profess philosophy, ‘All We Need is Love”

JSW Groups’ iconic landmark Jindal Mansion, dons a master piece created by ace fashion designer Manish Arora in conjunction with St+art Mumbai. As a part of St+art Mumbai 2014 UK based artist, Filthy Luker, had installed giant inflatable tentacles on the mansion which caught everyone’s attention.

‘All We Need is Love.’ is the inspiration, and the title, of Arora’s installation. In a world filled so much chaos, conflict and hatred, positive imagery and messaging are extremely important. The installation aims to evoke emotions like love and encourage passersby to stop and think of beauty in the world. The JSW Group, Manish Arora and St+art India Foundation hope that this message will be an affirmation and a reminder to be hopeful for the future.

It is important that art is inclusive and can be experienced by as wide an audience as possible. I am happy that Manish has used the canvas of our iconic Jindal Mansion, to spread love & joy this festive season.

“The inspiration for this art piece comes from my life philosophy, ‘All We Need is Love” and the designs showcase and interpret love in different forms. I want people to stop and ponder when they look at the installation and for that one minute, feel pure unadulterated love. In today’s social and political environment, it’s so important to remember its love that makes us human and connects all of us. I’m ecstatic about partnering with The JSW Group and St+art India Foundation and thank them for helping me bring my vision to life and giving me the best canvas to showcase my art,” Manish Arora.

The installation done in collaboration with The JSW Group is a radiant representation of Manish Arora’s designs, JSW Foundation’s work towards public art interventions and St+art India Foundation’s philosophy of celebrating the street as a canvas for visual creativity.

It took 6 months of ideating, 35 artisans and 3 months for the final installation to be made. Created with yards of cloth, either hand embroidered or printed, close to 2400 pieces were pieced together to create the finished look. The installation is all about colour, joy and celebration with added glow-in-the-dark elements.

St+art Mumbai 2017 Urban Art Festival which started in mid-October has successfully completed the Mahatma Gandhi mural at Churchgate station and has an ongoing exhibition in Sassoon Dock until December 30th as well as the ongoing public art district project in Mahim (E).

About Manish Arora

Manish Arora is one of the most celebrated and inspiring contemporary designers in the fashion world today. He is known for his astute craftsmanship and unique play on colors, such as his trademark palette of PINK and GOLD. His designs are inspired by Indian heritage but with a contemporary vibe. It was in 1997, that the world 1st viewed Manish’s design aesthetic with the launch of his label ‘Manish Arora’. With this he grew from strength to strength gaining a devoted following in the fashion world, which finally led to Manish exhibiting at the London Fashion Week in 2005. In 2007, Manish showcased for the 1st time in Paris Fashion Week. He became a member of the distinguished French Federation of Pret-a-Porter the same year.

Today, Manish sells his creations worldwide across prestigious stores such as Printemps, Joyce and Beams .In 2011, Manish was appointed the Creative Director for Iconic French Fashion House ‘Paco Robanne’ where he designed two successful collections for them. He has also collaborated with eminent brands such as Walt Disney, Swarvoski, Swatch, Reebok, Barbie, Mono Prix, Nespresso, Nivea, MAC Cosmetics, Pommery, Amrapali amongst others. In 2014, the brand opened its 1st flagship store in Paris. On 16 February 2016, Manish Arora was awarded the ‘Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur’, by François Richier, French ambassador to India. Manish is the 1st Indian in the Fashion Industry to be awarded this honour.
