BRAMPTON, ON: The City of Brampton is planning a series of exciting events for National Youth Week and National Youth Arts Week, May 1-7. Young people between the ages of 12 and 24 are invited to participate in a range of free activities to celebrate their positive contributions to our community through the arts, volunteerism, sports and leadership.
Highlights include:
• Youth Week Kickoff at Gage Park, on May 1, 12-4 pm, featuring live entertainment by youth in the Brampton community and inflatable games
• Music Monday concert for schools and community choirs on May 2, 11 am at Garden Square, celebrating music education
• Youth Nation Appreciation on May 3, 4-6:30 pm at Gore Meadows featuring fun-filled activities and workshops such as dance, face and hand art, interactive games and challenges, Power of ONE, and team building exercises
• Wrap-up Party May 7 in Garden Square, 12-5 pm, featuring a talent showcase, Battle of the Bands, and flash mob
Activities and events will be happening all week long including visual arts showcases at City Hall, Rose Theatre, and Brampton Library and PAMA.
