Incredible India Wins Pata Gold Award 2019

The Incredible India “Find the Incredible You” campaign released globally by the Ministry of Tourism during 2018-19 has been declared winner of the PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) Gold Award 2019 in the “Marketing – Primary Government Destination” category. This year’s awards attracted 198 entries from 78 organisations and individuals worldwide.

The Ministry of Tourism, as part of its promotional initiatives annually releases Global Media Campaigns under the ‘Incredible India’ brand-line in the Television, Print, Digital and Social Media, in key and potential source markets overseas.

To take the Campaigns to the next level, the ‘Incredible India 2.0’ Campaign was launched in September 2017, which marks a shift from generic promotions undertaken across the world to market specific promotional plans and content creation. The campaign focuses on digital and social media and the promotion of Niche Tourism products of the country.

As part of the 2.0 Campaign, five new television commercials were produced by the Ministry, which were aired globally in the television, digital and social media. These were:

  1. Yoga   :           “The Yogi of the Racetrack”
  2. Wellness :      “The Reincarnation of Mr. and Mrs. Jones”
  3. Luxury  :        “The Maharani of Manhattan”
  4. Cuisine  :       “The Masala MasterChef”
  5. Wildlife :       “The Sanctuary in Paris”

The campaign strategy was to shift the focus from the external experience of tourist destinations to the internal experience of travelers themselves. This series of transformative experiences was brought alive through unique storytelling in the format of autobiographies of travelers, with the tagline “Find the Incredible You”.

The series of films have received a very good response and have registered over 153 million views on social media. They were earlier awarded the First Prize in the category of TV Cinema Spot at the International Golden City Gate Tourism Awards at Berlin in March 2019. Mahila Kisan Awards: A Reality show with a difference

DD Kisan today launched a first-of-its-kind reality show ‘Mahila Kisan Awards’. To be telecast from 17th December, the show will see participation of women farmers from across the length and breadth of India, including from Jammu & Kashmir, all the states of North Eastern Region, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Goa, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh among others.

The Format

The selection of contestants for the show has been done by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The format of the show will include two woman farmers talking about their achievements in each episode. Judges will score these contestants based on their assessment. The five contestants who get the highest scores during the show will reach the finals, where one of them will be declared the winner.

Through the show, each participant will have an opportunity to learn from the experiences of other participants. Shahid Kapoor crowned Sexiest Asian Man in the World

British singer Zayn Malik has lost his crown as the sexiest Asian man in the world to Indian actor Shahid Kapoor. The popular Bollywood star topped the 50 Sexiest Asian Men in the world list for the first time, dethroning chart-topping pop star Zayn who has been awarded the accolade for the previous two years. The stunning victory for Shahid in the 2017 edition of the globally renowned list published by UK based newspaper Eastern Eye rounds off an action-packed year, which saw him win a number of Best Actor awards for his stunning performance in 2016 film Udta Punjab. Bollywood heartthrob and previous winner Hrithik Roshan ranked second for the third year in a row with last year’s winner Zayn falling to number three.

Shahid Kapoor, who ranked seventh last year, expressed his surprise at topping the list and dedicated the stunning victory to his legion of fans who voted for him in force. “I would like to thank everyone who voted for me. I am humbled by the desirable tag. I believe sexy is not only to do with the physical, but as much to do with the mental perspective on life. This one is for all those fans who have loved and supported me” said Shahid Kapoor.

The annual list, which is based on votes from fans around the world, heat generated on social networking sites and media attention, once again generated a massive global interest. WCD Ministry launches logo and tagline contest for ‘National Nutrition Mission’ with Rs 1 lakh prize money 

The Ministry of Women & Child Development has launched a contest inviting creative minds to design a logo and suggest a tagline for its prestigious ‘National Nutrition Mission’. It is an opportunity for citizens who aspire to see their design displayed on a National platform.

The Government of India approved the National Nutrition Mission to ensure holistic development and adequate nutrition for pregnant women, mothers and children. The programme targets to reduce the level of stunting, under-nutrition, anaemia and low birth rate. Accordingly, it was felt pertinent to launch an appropriate logo and tagline to generate awareness among the masses.

The Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt Maneka Sanjay Gandhi has said, “As has been the practice of the Ministry to engage with citizens, the Ministry proposes to invite entries from public for the same. In keeping with the overwhelming response received on similar contests run on the Ministry’s Social Media platform, it is proposed to award a prize money of Rs 1 lakh to the winner.”

Participants are welcome to send either a logo or a tagline or both. In case the logo and tagline selected by the jury are from separate participants, then the prize money would be split.
