“Deeply moved by the movie-Super30”-Vice President of India

Education plays a key role in empowering people; Appreciates mathematician Shri Anand for starting Super30 to train underprivileged students for IIT-JEE entrance;

The Vice President of India, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu has said that he was deeply moved by the movie- Super30 starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead role.

‘I was deeply moved by the inspirational story of Anand, who fought against all odds to provide a brighter future for impoverished children,’ he said after watching the special screening of the movie along with the lead actor of the film Shri. Hrithik Roshan, Producer Shri. Sajid Nadiadwala, Shri. Anand Kumar, and his family members at Upa Rashtrapati Bhavan, in New Delhi today.

The Vice President congratulated the makers of the movie Super30 for showcasing the dedication, commitment and the missionary zeal of a teacher who worked tirelessly to realize the dreams of scores of bright and talented students.

Shri Naidu also lauded the efforts of Shri Anand for starting Super 30 coaching center and appreciated his efforts in tracking the talented students from economically backward sections of the society and for honing their skills by providing training.

‘This noble gesture done by him is worthy of emulation by others,’ he added.

The movie- Super30 depicts the life and struggles of a brilliant mathematician Anand Kumar who coaches 30 underprivileged students for IIT-JEE entrance exam each year.

The Vice President said that education plays a key role in empowering people and development of the society and the nation.

NSS volunteers take part in large number in Kerala Flood Relief Measures

National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers in Kerala have taken up the relief and rescue operations on war-footing basis. About 1200 NSS units across the state are fully involved in the relief activities. The NSS volunteers are sanitising the affected area, preparing food packets for the flood victims, running common kitchen and distributing medicines.   The Volunteers and other functionaries are distributing food packets to the affected people at various places and are also involved in rescue operations. They are collecting items of daily uses like Dry  ration, clothes, soaps, sanitary napkins,  medicines of regular use, Milk Powder, bleaching powders, Hand wash, sanitizers etc. Collection of  money for the PM Relief Fund and CM Relief Fund of Kerala is also going on in all the NSS units. Volunteers from other states like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat ,Karnataka and West Bengal are also participating actively in the relief measures.

NSS volunteers always take up relief and rescue operations on priority whenever a natural disaster occurs in any part of the country. These volunteers work tirelessly to mobilise relief materials and work for the smooth distribution of the collected materials in the affected area in close coordination with the District Administration.

NSS, the flagship programme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, is one of the major  programmes for the student youth  across the country. At present about  41 lakh volunteers are enrolled in this programme in 426 Universities covering about 32000 institutions. Nari Shakti setting milestones, says PM Modi

Prime minister Narendra Modi has said country’s woman power has contributed a lot in the positive transformation being witnessed in our country and society.

Mr Modi said woman power is playing a pioneering role and establishing milestones and there are no upper limits for Nari Shakti.

In his first episode of Mann ki Baat in this year, Prime minister has expressed happiness that women in India are taking rapid strides of advancement in all fields bringing glory to the Nation.

Quoting from scriptures, Mr Modi said a daughter is equivalent of ten sons and woman power binds closely together society as a whole, the family as a whole on the axix of unity and oneness.

Remembering astronaut Kalpana Chawla, he said its a matter of sorrow for all of us that we lost Kalpana Chawla at the early age, but her life, her work is a message to young women across the world.

Highlighting the woman power, Prime minister said Matunga station in Mumbai is the first station in the country which is run by all woman staff . He also touched upon the daredevil stunts performed by the BSF biker contingent comprising women participants on Republic Day parade.
