A record crowd gets ready to welcome Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate Indian-American success at “Howdy, Modi!” Over 50,000 registered; Free parking onsite at the stadium
A history-making audience of over 50,000 Indian-Americans has registered to turn up at NRG Stadium for the “Howdy Modi” community summit on Sep 22 to see the visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Filling the giant stadium to capacity, they will come to celebrate the tremendous success of Indian-Americans in the US and the deepening US-India economic and political ties.
The crowd turnout is expected to be the largest for any Indian Prime Minister to address in North America and the largest for a democratically elected foreign leader in America. In expectation for this, the Texas India Forum will be providing free parking onsite at the stadium for all attendees.
The event, titled “Shared Dreams, Bright Future”, will showcase the strength and clout of the Indian American community, dubbed as “model” immigrants in the US as they are considered by policy experts to be the most highly educated and successful community in America. Panorama India celebrated the 70th India Republic Day on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the Pearson Convention Center, Brampton. The event united the local Indian community through celebrating the diversity of Indo-Canadians in Canada.
Overwhelming support for the event was garnered by community leaders, political dignitaries and sponsors, all of whom came together to celebrate India’s 70th Republic Day. Attendees included the Consul General of India in Toronto, Dinesh Bhatia, Federal Minister of Science, Kristy Duncan, MP Ruby Sahota, MP Ramesh Sangha, MP Bob Soraya, MPP Nina Tangri, MPP Deepak Anand, MPP Amarjot Sidhu, Mayor of Mississauga Bonne Crombie and Mayor of Brampton Patrick Brown.
The program consisted of 20 community organizations of which 200 local performers were given the Panorama India Platform. These groups showcased talent in all forms of artistic expression such as dancing, singing and drawing.
Opening ceremony commenced at 12pm with Republic Day greetings and poignant messages from dignitaries. Panorama India Chair, Anu Srivastava welcomed everyone and recognized the political dignitaries, community leaders, and guests. She said “Unity in Diversity and building Indo Canada bi-lateral relations through culture is the prime objective of this celebration.”
Consul General of India Mr. Dinesh Bhatia enthusiastically addressed the crowd and brought the Republic Day greetings on behalf of the President of India. Actress Ana de la Reguera and singer Carlos Rivera will host The Biggest Night in Latin Music® live on the Univision Network Nov. 15 from 8–11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The ‘first ever’ India Tourism Mart (ITM 2018) was inaugurated in New Delhi, India today. The India Tourism Mart is being organized by the Ministry of Tourism from 16th to 18th September 2018, in partnership with the Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH) and with support of State /UT Governments. The function was held in presence of the Secretary, other senior officials of Tourism Ministry and Chairman/members of FAITH and also delegates from India and across the world.
Inaugurating the event, Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal wished the best to the Tourism Ministry to reach the ambitious goal of US$100 billion FTA receipts/year within 5 years. T The Minister said that the most important element that will help promote Tourism in a complete way is the Government’s cleanliness drive, the Swachhta Abhiyan, which will ensure India becoming a preferred destination for all international tourists.
Speaking at the event, the Tourism Minister announced that ITM will be an annual event hereafter in line with other International Tourism Marts and it will be held in the month of September. ‘Hotstar Presents The ANOKHI Awards 2017’ rolled out the red carpet to welcome some of the world’s most renowned names in the areas of business, media, entertainment, crusader, and glamour, at Toronto’s historic Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex, on Tuesday November 28th.
The evening began with a sizzling red carpet reception with over 30 celebrities and personalities making the fateful walk down a 36 foot red carpet, which included ANOKHI Pulse Tv’s famous gold couch lounge against the backdrop of music by DJ Fizza. BAPS Charities hosted several hundred participants at its 14th annual Health Fair on Sunday September 24, 2017 at the BAPS Swaminarayan Complex in Toronto. This year’s Health Fair aimed to provide practical, preventative health care information for community members of all ages.
Over 50 health care professionals volunteered for the event, including dentists, optometrists, nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists and family physicians. Collectively, these professionals provided a variety of services and screening tests including audiograms, eye screenings and dental screenings. Participants were also able to attend relevant workshops on various health topics such as diabetes and yoga as well as receive individual consultations on issues including diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol.
Special guests at the Health Fair included Councillor Vincent Crisanti, Ward 1 – Etobicoke North, thanked the volunteers of BAPS Charities and said, “BAPS Charities has always taken a very wholesome approach. Part of being healthy is having healthy families. This event has grown over the years and I am happy to be here to kick off the health fair. Let’s stay healthy.”
