Cinesphere, an architectural and cultural gem on Toronto’s Waterfront and iconic piece of Canadian history will reopen today with the screening of ‘Dunkirk’.
This innovative cinema with its geodesic dome structure has been a landmark in the province for nearly hlaf a century. Connecting Ontarians to a unique cinematic experience, Cinesphere will now screen films in IMAX digital laser and IMAX 70mm film technologies. As part of the Ontario government’s ongoing revitalization of Ontario Place, Cinesphere will be open to the public and private events.
In an exclusive interview during the media interview with David Keighley IMAX representative provides insight into the state-of-the-art technology used at Cinesphere. The Honourable Eleanor McMahon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport was onsite. She spoke about the revitalization plans of Ontario Place. The opening of Cinesphere is the Province’s next step in the revitalization of Ontario Place, following the opening of Trillium Park and William G Davis Trail, that is transforming Ontario Place into a year-round waterfront destination.
