Univision Canada and TLN in collaboration with the Cuban Ambassador to Canada, and Cuban Ministry of Culture.

What could be more sizzling than LATIN HEAT? LATIN HEAT will be felt in the air of Toronto in an unprecedented sound, theatrical lighting and dance extravaganza as 41 of the hottest exponents of the Cuban musical scene converge for an exclusive one-night performance – all under one roof. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the rhythmic sounds of Cuba, featuring award-winning Latin artists Chacal, QVA Libre, Alain Daniel, El Micha and a special presentation from Latin Grammy Award winner, Fito Blanko on Sunday, August 13 at REBEL, Toronto’s prestigious 45,000 square foot multimedia, entertainment complex with its electrifying ambience and impressive 65-foot stage.

This epic one night is presented by Univision Canada and TLN in association with AMICI Entertainment Group. Aldo Di Felice, President of TLN TV and Univision Canada states: “We are proud to support this groundbreaking cultural and musical initiative by Canadian-Latino entrepreneurs working like us to serve the interests and needs of our communities”

The Embassy of Cuba in Canada proudly supports LATIN HEAT. As Cuban Ambassador to Canada, Julio Garmendia, states: “The presentation of these talented Cuban musicians in Toronto is an unprecedented event in the relations between Cuba and Canada. This performance serves as a tribute to the 150 years of Canadian Confederation and more than 70 years of uninterrupted diplomatic relations between our two countries.”

This is more than a mere concert but a means of identifying and strengthening national unity and ties between two nations.

As Cuba enters into a new era, so emerges a new breed of contagious music, reflecting the Cuban urban independent spirit and pride. The sound of Havana is making waves, fusing traditional Cuban rhythms with soul and salsa and their new mainstream sounds of timba, guaracha, reggaeton, rap, hip hop, Afro Cuban percussion, Cuban fusion and funk; earning global recognition for its hypnotic energy.

LATIN HEAT is an unforgettable way to celebrate the cultural tapestries that have molded our nations. Latin Heat will take place on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at REBEL entertainment complex located at 11 Polson Street, Toronto, Canada. Formerly Toronto’s iconic music spot “Sound Academy”, REBEL went through a major overhaul in 2016 by “nightclub mogul Charles Khabouth” estimated at over 10 million dollars [1]. REBEL is now considered one of the top entertainment venues in Toronto and was host to the CMW iHeartRadio fest featuring Big Sean and James Arthur and attended by Jaden Smith.
