Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman officially launched Ideal Entertainment at a red carpet event at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, Toronto on Thursday, Feb. 2. The first two projects for the company -Le Musk and 99 Songs were announced at the glittering ceremony, which was graced by Hon’ble Mayor John Tory.
Rahman who directed Le Musk, said “I’m looking forward to continuing my collaboration with Ideal Entertainment because they truly understand the sensibilities of the audiences I’m trying to reach through my projects,” he said. “On a personal level, I know the people at Ideal Entertainment have worked hard to come up in life, so they share the important value I put on hard work.”
Shaji Nada, president and CEO of the Ideal Group of Companies, said “As we live in an increasingly interconnected world we recognize that audiences today have an appetite for innovative content,” he said. “Ideal Entertainment aims to be the leader in this type of content creation and we are proud to partner with A.R. Rahman who pushes boundaries.”
The partnership is also a tribute to the musical genius A.R.Rahman’s 25 years in the film industry. An evening of music, theatre and dance set to the composer’s work, will take place at the Sony Centre on Saturday, Feb. 4. Proceeds from the show will go to the A.R. Rahman Foundation, which supports musical and performance training for economically disadvantaged children around the world.
