Adventure thriller, Sugar Mountain, climbs into Toronto on December 9, 2016

 TORONTO – levelFILM will release the gripping and suspenseful, Sugar Mountain, in select Toronto theatres on December 9, 2016. The film will be released on VOD/Digital in early 2017.

Shot over a six week period in Seward, Alaska, Sugar Mountain stars Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), Haley Webb (Teen Wolf), Drew Roy (Secretariat) and Shane Coffey (Pretty Little Liars).

Deep in debt to a local thug (Momoa), Miles persuades his girlfriend Lauren and brother Liam to help fake a disappearance in the Alaskan wilderness. While the town works together to find Miles, the local chief of police (Elwes) begins to suspect foul play. As he closes in on the truth, Liam struggles to conceal the hoax, and in the process exposes a secret that rocks him and Lauren to the core. Now the two are struggling to stay one step ahead of a sadistic thug and the tenacious cops before Miles is gone for good.

Sugar Mountain was directed by Richard Gray (Mine Games). The film was written by Abe Pogos (Packed to the Rafters). 2015 Emerging Cinematographer Award recipient (American Society of Cinematographers) John Garrett served as cinematographer on the project. Sugar Mountain was produced by Virginia Kay of Yellow Brick Films alongside Michele Gray, and Jamie Houge. Sugar Mountain is a Yellow Brick Films, Ten4 Pictures, Nice Bike Features, and Couch Cricket Productions production.
